Soaked to the bone…

309023_10150835023345367_738550366_20989644_103398130_nThis year Thailand is receiving record amounts of rain that are currently causing huge problems all over the country. With the high rain totals and regular typhoons to the east cost of Asia the rivers are well beyond their banks in Thailand. One of the biggest problems right now is Bangkok. The city of 10,000,000 people has been made a ghost town. Roads are closed, malls have been flooded, ground shipping has been brought to a halt. While we did experience some flooding in CM including about 2 inches of water in our office which is 8 meters above the normal water level, the biggest issue now is food availability. Almost 800,000 acres of Rice have been destroyed and the warehouses for most of the large grocers in Thailand are a total loss. While we do have the things we need to live in Chiang Mai due to other shipping routes and locally grown foodstuffs, we are watching the store shelves run dry, the restaurants scratching items off their menus and the Airlines posting signs that say “No Flights Available” in front of their ticket counters. This is bound to effect the world food prices as well since Thailand is a very material contributor to rice exports worldwide. Please pray with us as we seek God’s grace in the lives of people being effected. We pray that through kind hands of mercy ministries during this time, people that are suffering will see the mercy extended to us by a father that love us.
