Home of the Swallow is a Christian organization that was established to help disadvantaged women and children in Thailand, primarily pregnant women and single mothers. Our vision is to reduce the number of children being given up for adoption, being abandoned, sold or otherwise placed in the care of people other than the birth parents.

Each year in Thailand, many women feel forced to relinquish their children because of lack of support from their family and society. Many feel they have bought shame to their family or that their parents would disown them because of their pregnancy. Some are forced to attempt harmful abortions that may result in harming the child in the womb. Others lack financial, emotional and physical support to care for their children on their own.

Fundamental to the work of Home of the Swallow is the belief that true and transforming change can only come through a relationship with Jesus Christ. It is our aim to help facilitate this relationship by assisting women and their children that are lacking social, financial and emotional support within the framework of a residential program.

We help the women to gain the independence needed to be able to care for themselves and their child by teaching them parenting skills, vocational skills such as sewing and jewelry making, financial management, cooking skills and general life skills. We also provide counseling, spiritual and emotional support as well as all necessities such as food, housing and medical supplies. For those already on the path to independent living there is a great need for safe, healthy, and affordable childcare for their children while they are at work.

The Home of the Swallow Nursery has a vision to show God’s love by providing low cost childcare for disadvantaged families. The children at Home of the Swallow attend the nursery each day as their mother’s work and study and we also accept children from poor and disadvantaged families from the surrounding villages that need safe and affordable childcare. The children learn through song, dance, crafts, music, sports and other fun educational activities.

Thus far, Home of the Swallow has helped over 20 women and their children through the residential program and another 20+ families with children through the Nursery.
