At the invitation of several Kalasin church pastors churches, Life Training established its work in Kalasin, Isaan, Thailand to help build bridges for local believers to access the Buddhist community, both in Kalasin city and the outlying rural communities. Through Life Training’s co-operation with local believers, we aim to help grow faith communities in this part of Thailand.

Since Kalasin is the second poorest province in Thailand, Life Training aims to equip local people with skills which enable them to earn a better living. These skills include sewing which incorporates local weaving skills, baking, soap making and horticulture. Training in these is available at the Life Training centre in Kalasin. All the products can be sold either locally or abroad.

Another aim is to help develop educational skills through English teaching, which can help to better educational and job opportunities. English instruction includes training and equipping local English teachers with skills and resources. Guitar lessons are being given to both Christians and other school students. Teaching is done in local schools, churches and in the Life Training centre.

In all our projects we aim to empower locals to carry on the work we initiate and to encourage the local believers to reach out to their Buddhist neighbors in practical ways. Through building relationships with our trainees, we hope to see peoples’ lives transformed by the power of God as they come to faith in him.
