Lahu Living Word Celebrates the Opening of New Myanmar Area

At the end of January the Lahu Living Word team traveled to several villages so remote that foreigners have been restricted there since the 1960’s. At the Lahu Bible School in Lashio, Northern Shan State, Myanmar the team met with the leaders of about 120 churches very excited and eager to use the Burmese language Lahu Christian Correspondence Course to learn more about the Gospel. The only written Christian materials available there are a few very old bibles and hymnbooks.

The project provided a majority of the funding for printing of the Burmese language Lahu Christian Correspondence Course materials. The team was able to deliver 1,500 sets of lessons number 1 – 5. The project has also helped support the two full-time staff who travel by old motorbike distributing the course by hand and mentoring the students.

As everyone celebrates the start of this ministry please pray for the Lahu Living Word team, for the safety of the men traveling by motorbike, for funds to replace the worn out motorbikes, for peace for the country of Myanmar, and that God is glorified by our efforts.

Christmas Party

Before we all headed our separate directions for Christmas & New Years we were able to fellowship at the FCF Christmas party. The morning started out with praise reports from 2011. It was great to see what God is doing in Thailand and the reports brought tears to many eyes as we took a step back and thanked God for His Goodness in 2011. After the praise time we shared a great meal of pizza from “The Pizza Company” which included everything from the common pepperoni and cheese to seafood with mayonnaise. We also had a gift exchange were each staff member had the chance to get and bless another staff member. The whole morning was great fun and further reminded us of the value that God gives us in the friends and family we are surrounded with. Thank you to all of FCFs supporters. We are pleased to report that 2011 was an AWEsome year and we were blessed to have so many good supporters and prayer worriers to fuel the activity.
